Family escape injury in Ballymena petrol-bomb attackFamily escape injury in Ballymena petrol-bomb attack
Tuesday, 29th August 2006

A family have escaped injury in an overnight petrol-bomb attack on a house in Ballymena, Co Antrim.

The PSNI says two devices were thrown at the house in Dunfane Park, one of which struck an exterior wall and another which caused damage to the living room.

A man, a woman and an unknown number of children were inside at the time, but all were unhurt.

The motive for the attack is still unclear.

The police are searching for three youths who were spotted running from the scene in the direction of Beech Park.

Two petrol bombs were also thrown at a house in the Parklands area of the town on Saturday morning, damaging an external wall and a car parked in the driveway.

The woman who lives in the house was uninjured in the attack.
